The Friends of Peterson was incorporated in January 2014 as a 501(c)3 to support Mary Gage Peterson Elementary School. Since its inception a decade ago, Friends of Peterson has raised over $1,000,000 to support the work of Peterson School and the surrounding community.
The 2025-2026 school year brought many opportunities for our students, teachers, and families. Friends of Peterson raised $81,866 during this fiscal year, bringing our total since inception to $1,235,291. In addition to general donations, we raised more than $7,700 through our Giving Tuesday and end-of-year campaigns. Friends of Peterson continued apparel sales and partnerships with local restaurants for dining events.
The fifth annual Walk-a-thon event raised more than $38,000 from families, community members, and business sponsors. The PTA hosted games on the field and parties for the grades who raised the most funds.
